Open Question: What happens after the bail amount is posted?

My brother was caught stealing and had to pay $500 He payed the $500 that he owed but didnt show up for court. The court sent him an arrest warrant saying the bond ammount is $200. What happens after he goes to a bailbond agency to receive the $200? Does he bring that money to the Municipal Court Violations Bureau(place he has to go for arrest warant)? Or where? What are the exact steps after that? We cant find this information online and we dont want to just call unless we definitely cant find info. Thank you

A young and dynamic vice-president at the local bank recognizes that these customer debts constitute valuable future assets and increases Heidi's borrowing limit. He sees no reason for any undue concern, since he has the debts of the unemployed alcoholics as collateral. At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert traders figure a way to make huge commissions, and transform these customer loans into DRINKBONDS, ALKIBONDS and PUKEBONDS. The collapsed bond asset value destroys the banks liquidity and prevents it from issuing new loans, thus freezing credit and economic activity in the community.The suppliers of Heidi's bar had granted her generous payment extensions and had invested their firms' pension funds in the various BOND securities. They find they are now faced with having to write off her bad debt and with losing over 90% of the presumed value of the bonds. Her wine supplier also claims bankruptcy, closing the doors on a family business that had endured for three generations, her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor, who immediately closes the local plant and lays off 150 workers. Fortunately though, the bank, the brokerage houses and their respective executives are saved and bailed out by a multi-billion dollar no-strings attached cash infusion from their cronies in Government. The funds required for this bailout are obtained by new taxes levied on employed, middle-class, non-drinkers who have never been in Heidi's bar. Any questions?

Resolved Question: What is an Annex Judge?

I'm not even sure if I'm spelling that correctly; Well what happened was that I missed my court day which was yesterday and I called the 311 number to find out what it is that I had to do. They told me that since I had missed my court day I would have to call a a bail bond and place a bond. When I called the bond place they told me that I have a 15 grace period? And I was not told this when I called 311. The bail bond place also told me that I would have to talk to an Annex Judge....But I'm scared to go to court now and talk to a judge since I miss court a day ago...and I guess is a warrant now. But He assured me that they would not take me in because I still had that 15 day grace period, and that an Annex Judge would work with me and help,. What should I do? I'm very confused and calling 311 won't help, they are so rude and act like they don't want to help nobody. Any suggestions? By the way I'm in Houston T.x Thanks in advance!

Resolved Question: Question about posting bail?

If there is a no contact order in place, how would a person go about getting someone bailed out of jail? What if there is no one else (family, etc.) known of to bail the person out? Any suggestions? PS... Before anyone suggests it... You can't go to a bails bondsman or the court to pay the bond if a no contact order is in place, though :( ... Any other suggestions. My pal asked me to bail someone out for him because of the over mentioned but, I don't know the person and I don't want to be responsible for making sure the person shows up for court, etc.

Voting Question: Can I get my bail money back?

I bailed my brother out of jail, and because he had a warrant out for him in a different city than the one he got put in jail for, I also paid the bond for the second city. Long story short, he wound up back in jail before he could make an appearance at his scheduled court date for the second city. Can I receive my bail money back for the second city since he was unable to make that court date (since he was back in jail in the first city)? Sorry, maybe I'm not using the terms correctly. I actually paid, I didn't go thru a bond company. So that means I paid bail right?

k start off my name is brian im 22 just turned 22 and i live in michigan and in the wayne county area at the time bein im bein charged with home invasion in the second degree my second one i have a prior from 07 and i did ple guilty to that one and i got 90 day in the prison sai bootcamp and 3 yr hytaprobation i was just bout to receive of probation that was my first felony now 2009 in december cought this one this is what happen i live wit my pal in wyndotte and she got a call one day bad news about her dad he had heart attack and went to hosipital put on icu so i went everyday to the hosipital to show her and her fam sum support bein threw that and know how feels but wit my uncle and one day 5 days later while at hosipital my boi called me and wanted to hang out one night and he was suppost to arrive look me and never showed up tryed to call his phone no answer went straight to voice mail didnt no what had happen so continued on wit my night the next day i called his phone again same thing voice mail called around 130 pm then hung up called his mom she said he went to jail dope charge got cought wit pound of weed in his truck so i told her i want to meet her up at his home to receive relax of his smoke out of there so when het receive back out he can have it ( my intetions were bad for goin to receive his smoke ) i know so i left the hosipital at 245 pm and got there at 315 330 pm and no one was there yet so when got droped off called my mom to arrive receive me at 330 no one was there yet by time she got there it woulda been 400 it was icy out side so while me there my cuzin which my bois bestfriend to we were every bois bestfriends , brothers familiy treated each other like sons my cuz open the garage door asked him why was here he said to make sure got everything said what he took the dirtbike and tv and misc things that my boi his boi didnt pay him for so he took what was his so he close garage door he went up stairs from inside gargage he said he leaving wasnt there 10 mins didnt pay no attetion about bein in cuz we were aloud . so he left close the door 2 secs later i got ready to leave right after him cuz i was callin my mom like nick already been here took his stuff he said so herd bangin front door seen my boi bonded out of jail big bail fam got money so i went down open door we every went up stairs bull shited for sec he noticed his tv was gone and went down stairs and seen dirt bike gone came back up him his mom and step dad and my cuz every up stairs now the boi yellin in my face we gettin ready to battle and i tell him i showed up bout to meet his mom and them here to receive the weed u every ready know i said look talk to nick my cuz he right there ask him he didnt say nuttin he rushed out to the balcony jumped 2nd story took off didnt catch him i coulda took off but stayed to talk to him cuz damn thought we were bestfriends of 12 yrs so they not him his mom and step dad threatin to call cops he said no so i was like ay look we bois lets go find nick and look whats up he said ok so we left my mom pulled up got into her car went to nick home nuttin went to his sis home nuttin went to wear nick hang out nick wasnt there but seen kids inside wit dirtboke knocked got that out said nick came by droped off ,,,, kids across the road came across said nick was here ( knowing we mad ) he put sum stuff in the garage said ok so they said dont want no trouble or no cops involved said they got kids and didnt know it was his stuff thought it was nicks k so we loaded up in my moms car big flat tv and misc stuff and called a mutual pal to pick up dirt bike so we took it every back to home and he said thank u we bois and he was like can u ask nick can i receive my weed back which was 7 ounces of weed there i said sick call him are we good he said yea try to help me receive my weed back so said ok so wit out knowing i said to him cxalled him said nick said he aint giving u the weed u owed him money and didnt pay him so he keepin it then he said he makin police report said what eva thats messed up i didnt take nuttin from u he said i dont care so him his mom his girl and his step dad made police report sayin we broke into his home wit a flat head screw driver broke his balcony door destroyed every his entiror doors of his moms condo and stole every her jewrey safe deposit box wit 1200 in it lab tops compters and none of that was there insurance thing this is what this is every about that and 7 ounces off weed bull krap didnt receive his smoke back so said every this but yea my aunt my cuz mom still got garage door opener and in there statments so much mixed up stuff i read the discovery packet so much seen so much bull and lies and its bull krap mom never lived there she got a home of the golf course wit her man and reneted out the condo to her son which 20 yr old and been livin ther by him self for 2 yrs and every are friends and family know it but they playin dumb roll sayin I bailed my pal out of jail about two years ago. He didn't show up for court!!! He moved from his home and my other pal said he is not in the US anymore. The bounty hunter searched my home about a year ago. Obviously, I do whatever I can to help them catch him. I guess they couldn't find him yet. Today, I got a letter that as a cosigner I have to pay every the bonds money which is $29k. I don't have money to pay it off. Will I be able to finance it? I heard bail bonds company also can garnish my wages? How much is the percentage? I am married.

My brother was released on a 10k bond. He paid the lady 5k up front and he agreed to pay $300 a month until everything is paid off! My mom co-signed? the bond? I dont know what she did but I know that the payments should be made in "her name"..the bonds lady charged my brother credit card for $1000! She wasnt suppose to charge his card, they never agreed to that and he didnt give her any permission! My brother used his credit card to pay her the 5k up front so I guess thats why she was able to receive a hold of his card #! But she wasnt suppose to charge his card and not for that amount! What should he do? He has already called his bank and they opened a case..what else can be done? If it says in the contract that he is suppose to pay $300 a month then why is she charging his card $1000 without his permission? isnt that fraud/illegal? yea if your tardy with payments then they charge a tiny fee, not $1000..my mom has the contract right here...

well lets just put it this way.. if anyone keeps up with nh news then im sure that they would know about the guy that raped a needy 16 year old girl then got out on bail but then got re arrested for contacting her and telling her to change her story... then he got out on bail again... then later that week he went to buy a gun but was denied do to violation of his bond.. so they arrested him again... but they are still going to let him out if he can arrive up with the money. THIS GUY IS SOOOOO SICK AND WRONG! i know he will receive the money... as i know this man personally.. im the victim in this case. I'm not allowed to say how i know him... but lets just put it this way im a foster child now.... i will not give out personal information.. im just saying that i really really really think that the law is really gay and they need to step up!!! the court systems are too nice... and its good sometimes... but not in my case... i just want some advice. im not sure how to handle this and it just kills me to look his face and my story every up in the news knowing everything that i know... i did the right thing by telling but it still i feel like i should not have.. maybe he would have stopped? idk every i know is im scared... but im a strong girl... im headed for a better life.. but its still difficult.. he has messed me up more than most know.... Resolved Question: Can you revoke an immigration bond if you payed with out a bondsman?

Ok so about 6 months ago my now ex boyfriend was arrested for taking off an ankle monitor that he had for immigrational hold.he was arrested for 33 days before he had court and the bail was set at $3000.his family and I pulled it together with help from extended family members to post bail. We posted bail we paid in money orders t that time we put that the address were he was ble to receive every his papers would be my home. Now things didn't arrive out how we expected to he stopped talking to his family who he was suppose to pay back and never did we broke up he moved from were he was living and hasn't changed the address. Is there a way his family and I can revoke the bond?? And would they arrive to my home even if I give them a possible current residence address?

Officers found the two in the apartment, where the alleged assault took place. Montgomery County police spokesman Cpl. Dan Friz told reporters: “Based on the information she provided and the location and description of the gentlemen and some of the contents in the apartment, the officers went right to the apartment, found the two guys in the apartment, locked them up.” Officers arrested Melquicide H. Sorto, 31, and Marcos R. Torres-Enriquez, 20, and charged them with second-degree rape. Both are being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $1 million bond. The victim said she first encountered the men in the afternoon, close the intersection of Piney Branch Road and Carroll Avenue when they yelled at her in Spanish. The girl, who does not talk Spanish, kept walking. Later, she was playing in a nearby park, when the two grabbed her and forced her into their apartment in the 8700 block of Carroll Avenue, where she says both men raped her. The little girl ran home and immediately told her mom. She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later released. Due to the heinous nature of the crime, police have notified Immigration and Customs Enforcement of the arrest, and are currently investigating a possible link to gang activity. Montgomery County police only report illegal aliens to the feds when they have been arrested for a very serious crime such as rape or murder. As Judicial Watch recently pointed out, illegal aliens arrested for burglary, simple assault, and most weapons violations are still not reported to ICE for deportation. Just as with any offender, bail is set for them and they are released back onto the streets to either commit more crimes in the county or to flee elsewhere. As a direct result of Maryland’s continued lax attitude toward illegal immigration, the state’s sanctuary cities, and lack of cooperation with federal authorities, violent crimes committed by illegal aliens have recently soared. Maryland is also one of a handful of states which issues driver’s licenses to illegal aliens. He was also charged with several counts of robbery in a string of home invasions which targeted elderly homeowners. He always tied-up his victims, one of whom was 92-years-old. At the time of his arrest, Garcia-Perlera was living in Hyattsville, MD and working for an electrical contractor. He had been in the country illegally for six years. -In September 2008, while at a local mall, a Gaithersburg teenager was stabbed nearly 50 times by gang members Ricardo Mejia, 16, Oswaldo Michael Lainez, 16, Omar Diaz, 16, and Edgar Garcia, 15. Though he was stabbed in the heart, the teen survived the attack. every of the assailants were charged as adults with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and two conspiracy charges. In April 2009, Montgomery County Police Chief J. Thomas Manger announced that criminal activity committed by illegal alien gangs MS-13 and the Latin Kings had increased significantly and accounted for the higher numbers of serious crimes such as rape, robbery, and murder. Resolved Question: My 16 year old brother was assaulted last night? what can we do?

Hello everyone, I have a 16 year old brother that was assaulted last night by two older guys. These guys took $15 from him and an iPod which he letter got back when the cops cached those guys. My question is if there is anything we can do to follow the case or to make sure those guys receive a long sentence for steeling and beating a 16 year old kid. We were told by the cops that they were going to take those guys to jail and that we didn't need to do anything, but those 30 year old guys threatened my brother. They told him that they will arrive back and receive him if he calls the police so now we are really afraid that those guys will pay the bail bond and arrive to receive my brother. My brother do not look like a gangster he dreams of becoming a lawyer :( he is a really good kid. Please if any of you guys know what we can do please let me know. Resolved Question: Do you think a privately run financial sector could be the answer?

Tonight (Saturday night) Fannie Mae reported a $75B loss for 2009 after a $60B loss for 2008 and needs $15B more from taxpayers just for the month of March. The Treasury paid $700B to bail out the banks and now can't receive them to lend. every of the regulators missed subprime and none of the credit reporting agencies or auditors picked up the impending collapse. Now government, the lender of last resort, is going cap in hand to the bond market for assistance and printing money when it can't cover the shortfall. Given the complete failure of government to regulate the financial system, do you believe the answer could be a privately run global financial system that has one single goal - making sure buyers and sellers can trade in a free market with quality information - rather than serving a thousand masters like keeping inflation low, keeping the economy going, regulating everyone, making homes affordable, preventing big companies from failing, etc? Resolved Question: felony charged as misdemeanor? do cops know what their talking about? rookie?

in florida, a 3rd degree felony is the lowest level felony and then it goes to 1st degree misdemeanor the fine for a 3rd degree felony is a maximum of 5 year $5000 fine my pal got charged with a 3rd degree felony for having a pistol below his seat, but the COP told him it was a MISDEMEANOR, he got arrested and bonded out for $150 though the original bail was set at $1000 now in florida, 20 grams or less of marijuana is a 1st degree misdemeanoe 1 year in jail $1000 fine why does is his gun violation seem like a misdemeanor? 1000 dollar bond paid with only 150 dollars? i feel like had the gun been on his body it be 5 years 5k penalty. the clerks office says its a felony court matter

Resolved Question: I need advice about my step mother?

Usually this is the other way around right? My biological mom is bi polar and because of it she has been very abusive my whole life she has put me through hell. I always wanted to know what it would be like to have a mom so I always put a lot of effort in trying to receive close to my step mom...She came into the picture when I was eight and she has one son and two daughters. I am now 22 years old married and have three kids…every of their dads bailed out so my dad raised them and has genuinely treated them right I mean he treated them as his possess and I support him in doing that I could not imagine living life without my dad. I am glad to look what an amazing step dad can be like and I am proud to look my dad has gone over and beyond for his three step kids. However, I do not understand where she is coming from why wouldn’t she do that for me??? It seems like she only cares about her kids and deals with me on an obligated basis even though I have invited her places, called and told her how I feel, told her in conversation face to face and still I receive nothing from her…I guess I will just have to accept that she wants nothing to do with me when I have been so open with her…she is great to her kids and different towards me….for example me and my husband went through a rough time so I had to go to my dad to ask him for groceries for me and my kids well my dad says your step mom will take you to receive groceries which I was grateful for so my dad gave her the money and we went together….after I loaded up my truck that was it, I have lived in my home for two years she has only came by twice and only to pick up my kids so they could visit with their grandfather…this example validates that she only does things when my dad asks her to or when she feels obligated….why would she want to be like that? So many other examples I could give but that would be a book full but recently she really hurt me bad…I grew up playing soccer in fact this is how she met my dad me and her daughter played together on her team when we were 8….anyway there is a women’s league were we live I put a team together and invited her and her daughter to play on my team they had some girls who could play and I had my biological sister and a couple of my life friends playing as well…me and my sister shelled out 180 bucks for uniforms…in addition my sister has never really gotten close to my dad and step mom because she feels it would hurt our biological mom but saw this as a window of opportunity to receive close to her as I thought it could bond our relationship…my sister has four kids and I have three so at the games it was adorable to look them every playing on the sidelines so my dad got to look his grandchildren I me and my sister were trying to bond with my step mom what a win-win situation right?? Wrong it was a disaster and I could not understand why she would look it differently than what I am telling you….what ended up happening was my team played for three seasons total…well unfortunately she missed a lot of games because her mom was dying of cancer and then ended up passing away…I felt really bad for her and completely empathized with her situation and offered any help to her and would call or text her to check on her and how things were going….well meanwhile my team was doing pretty well we won over half of our games and won our division in the second season even won fifty bucks towards the next seasons league fees…well in season three she ends up coming back and her daughter was showing up to more games…now my step sister and mom are very competitive and over bearing….they started talking down to people during the game and specifically to me my sister and our pal….well my pal has never played soccer before so she is learning…sometimes they would leave her crying with their comments…me being the coach nicely told everyone including my step mom that mean comments and unconstructive criticism was not going to be tolerated well she hated that I told her to cease on numerous occasions….so instead of talking to me about it and working our differences out she started telling people on the team that I could not coach and that they should start their possess team without me and my sister…she would leave games without saying goodbye or giving me a hug which really hurt me….what was this really about why couldn’t she support me as a coach???Why couldn’t she be an adult and work her differences out with me????Well I missed a game I had a kidney infection…my husband went with the kids anyway well this was the only reason why I found out but the new team she was agreeing to support behind my back….my husband saw her and her daughter recruiting other players for their new team and not only that but they convinced every of the other girls to go with them on this other team….they said that my pal was too sensitive and needed to toughen up…and that they were sick of me standing up for her…they would say things in front of her like don’t pa

Resolved Question: Can someone kick you out /lock you out of the house if you called the cops on them?

So suppose that one or more of the people you live in the home with have just committed assault against you. You want to go to the police and you should go to the police, but the aggressor[s] threaten to lock you out or kick you out if you do. This happened to a pal of mine; they were assaulted by two other people in turn where they lived; My pal went to the police, and the attackers went to jail. But then when they made bail/bond, they came back and immediately kicked my pal out because of it. They even stole the victim's phone and keys so that they couldn't receive their stuff or call for any further help, or steer their possess car. They had to walk God knows how far from the home in order to find an officer again for help. I found out after my pal asked the police to contact me. They had to be taken to where to where I live by police escort because my roommates were still out of town with the car, and I work at home anyway. I didn't think something like this would happen at every, let alone at the worst possible time. It was a very scary thing to hear and it's made me sob since then. every my pal did was what anyone in a capable enough mindset would do if they were abused/assaulted--go to the cops for help. Was what the attackers did to my pal after the assault report was filed (and arrests made) even fair or legal?

Voting Question: BOUNTY HUNTER question?

I just ask this out of curiousity but.. Say you go to jail and are bonded out by a bail bondsman for 10%. If you miss court you will have a warrant and police and bounty hunters will try to find you and the person who bailed you out is liable for the other 90%. If they pay that other 90% will bounty hunters still try to find you or will they no longer care since they got there money so only police would try to find you? wish that makes sense... thanks!

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement have placed a detainer on both men, because it is suspected they are illegal immigrants, said a spokeswoman for ICE, a federal agency. Once the suspects have completed their legal and criminal processes, they will be handed over to ICE and could possibly be deported. Police allege the two men first approached the girl, who is from the Quebec Terrace neighborhood of Silver Spring, at a gas station close Piney Branch Road and Carroll Avenue Tuesday afternoon, according to a statement of charges filed in District Court in Rockville. The men spoke to the victim in Spanish, which she did not understand, and she then walked to her nearby home, according to the statement. Voting Question: What reasons can a county seize your property if you use it to bond smone out other than not show for court?

My husbands parents are thinking of putting up their property to receive my husband out of jail. His bond is $115000 and the value of the property might cover the bond amount. We have heard that our county will simply let him out on bond if we bring in a copy of value from local assessors office. Our concern is that we have also heard that the county is notorious for revoking and or amending the bond amount after the inmate is out on bail and then they seize the property anyway. Can any one tell me where to go to research this or if we went through a bondsman if they could protect the property by writing up the contract for the bond themselves?

My pal was not in any criminal record, beside owe some credit card debts, but not a lot. I have a good pal was in a worse situation, he told me that since he owed the private apartment landlord for about $8000, which is not right, because he didn't pay any rent for the 9months last year, so the landlord did something in court, which mailed some paperwork to him saying he must pay back the rent amount, in this case he have not find a stable job yet... so in this situation, can he still leave the USA to other country? Resolved Question: Why do the banks buy treasury bonds with bailout money?

It seems very odd that the government bails out the banks then the banks lend the money back to the government by buying treasury bonds for interest! Some people are saying the banks are being bearish and don't want to invest in the failing economy so they buy treasury bonds, the only safe bet. However isn't the government then just paying the banks 4% on the treasury bonds they funded with the bailout? It seems like the government is paying the banks not to invest the money they bailed them out with! Is this true?

Resolved Question: Who's responsibility is it to fix up the paperwork when someone takes over an existing lease?

I've found myself in a bit of a pickle - I was originally planning to take over my housemates lease when he moved out and we had a verbal agreement that this would happen when I thought I had found someone to take over my housemates room. He has since moved out. I had contacted the landlord and we also had a verbal agreement that I would take over the lease and I had told her that I assumed I would need to fill out some nice of paperwork but she hasn't quite gotten back to me with it. The person who I had lined up to move in bailed on me at the last minute leaving me with an empty room and too much rent than I can afford. I have never seen the lease agreement. I have not signed anything. I have not even paid my bond because the landlord never filled in her part of the paperwork. I am wondering who's responsibility it actually is when someone takes over an existing lease to fix up the paperwork. Is it the previous tenant or the landlord, or was it mine? Who's responsibility is it to pay the rent money in this situation - legally and ethically? My exhousemate had given me 2 weeks notice that he would be leaving. Resolved Question: Can Girl's Testimony Drop Charges?

The dad of my son whom was born 1/28/2010 was charged with Statutory rape and indecent liberties with a child. I'm 14 and he's 22. I lied to him about my age and told him that I was 18. Word got out to my family and they also never told him how old I was. I didn't tell the guy how old I was until I was 7months pregnant. The case was reported to the police by Social Service but they never pressed charges. His Bond Hearing in next wednesday. Do you think my testimony matters in this case? If I receive in contact with his lawyer on monday and receive the chance to testify in court will those charges be dropped or lowered to the the point he doesn't face prison time? This guy is innocent and in jail based on me and my family's lies. what do I do? any advice? I need help not for someone to make me feel bad about my self. Also his bond is 1000 with a bail-bondsman and 10,000 without. He doesn't have money what other way can he receive out? He doesn't have any criminal records. Voting Question: 4th amendment waiver as condition of bail?

As a condition to be allowed out of jail on bail/bond, before any conviction, often there is a 4th amendment waiver. This is the constitutional protection against unlawful search and seizure. Exactly how far does this go? Can your car,home, property, office at work,etc. every be searched at any time for no reason at every? Are your fourth amendment rights completely removed? Can government officials walk in your home every day just because they feel like it? Do they have to have any reasonable cause at every, or is it a "free-for-every" This is very specific to what are my rights below 4th amendment waiver. If someone still needs a warrant, or probable cause, how is this any different than normal?

Voting Question: Bail Bondsman Question?

OK so my uncle has NOT paid his $190 left remaining for his bond, & today it's getting turned over to collections..... Supposedly my uncle was thrown in jail for charges, he promised to pay the bondsman when he got paid... Several months pass, I receive a phone call from a bondsman, asking me to make a payment for him, since he hasn't made a payment to them within the month or so ago... Apparently, it's not gonna arrive out of my pocket, just because I'm the friggn co-signer on the account, It's going to arrive out of my uncle's pocket rather if he pays it or not... But when I look online at his court records, it shows BOND FORFEITED, which I know now he is NO LONGER ELIGIBLE for BOND & that hes gonna start serving difficult TIME... I really hate that its gonna hurt my credit score, but when can I do?

Never talk to a man in a bathroom unless you are on equal footing: both waiting in line, etc. For every other situations, an almost imperceptible nod is every the conversation you need. You cannot rat out a coworker who shows up at work with a massive hangover. You may however, hide the aspirin, smear his seat with limburger cheese, turn the brightness dial every the way down so he thinks his monitor is broken, and have him paged over the loudspeaker every seven minutes.
